We had the pleasure to welcome Caroline Janvier, deputy of La République en Marche at the CEDS for a conference on the theme: exchange on health.

Mrs. Caroline Janvier, Member of Parliament for the second constituency of the Loiret was kind enough to accept the invitation of the CEDS and presented us her career path as well as the stakes of her political commitment.

The fight against the exclusion of people with disabilities, the reform of the use of cannabis, bioethics, France-Russia relations, are all battles led by Madame Janvier.

Coming from an association background, Caroline Janvier has long worked for the inclusion of people with disabilities within the company.

The deputy has explained her struggle, which is taking shape thanks to the creation of the “handicap label”. The aim of this program is to encourage companies to hire people with disabilities in order to create a positive and dynamic image of the working world. This integration will enhance both the company and its employees.

She reminded us that companies with more than 20 employees are required to have a minimum of 6% of disabled workers. Financial penalties are put in place if this is not respected.

However, this is only a first step towards integration and the creation of a strong link between the specialized and “ordinary” environments:
A daily commitment through the adaptation of mobility at work and in daily life, training at school and in the workplace, the provision of care or the adaptation of the home are the major areas of work to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.
