Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies
As said by the Dutch philosopher Baruch Spinoza, “peace is not an absence of war, it is a virtue, a state of mind, a disposition for benevolence, confidence and justice”. That‘s the reason why its architecture needs to be understood, analyzed, studied.
A programme in peace studies is therefore crucial in order provides some knowledge and expertise on the way peace can provided, enforced and implemented. This relies on an expertise in the knowledge of conflicts, crisis and civil wars and on the mechanisms leading to a safe transition to peace. Peace studies represent a comprehensive approach that is in the same time political, economic and cultural.
The programme is organized and scheduled in partnership with UNESCO.
