OBJECTIFS DE LA FORMATION

Dans le souci d'élargir ses activités et de répondre à une demande croissante, le C.E.D.S. a décidé en 1998 d'ouvrir le programme de formation de Ph.D. en Relations Internationales et Diplomatie en langue anglaise.

M. Pascal CHAIGNEAU, Docteur en Droit, Docteur ès-Lettres, Docteur en Science Politique et Docteur en Economie, Professeur des Universités, Avocat spécialiste en Droit International, ancien Consul général honoraire, Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur de la France.

AUDITEURS CONCERNÉS

Cette formation est destinée aux diplomates, aux hauts fonctionnaires ainsi qu'aux cadres supérieurs.

NATURE DES ENSEIGNEMENTS ET RYTHME DU PROGRAMME

Prenant en considération les activités professionnelles de chaque auditeur, ce programme, qui se déroule d'avril 2010 à février 2011, est organisé les jeudis toute la journée et le vendredi matin.

Des tables-rondes, des dîners-débats ainsi que deux voyages d'études  sont également prévus.

SANCTION DES ÉTUDES

Après avoir passé avec succès les épreuves d'évaluation aux différents enseignements avoir participé aux travaux en comités et satisfait à une présence à 75 % du programme, les auditeurs du Ph.D. auront en vue d'obtenir le Diplôme, une thèse de 300 pages minimum à rédiger et soutenir devant un jury d'au moins quatre professeurs ou maîtres de conférences des Universités.

ACCRÉDITATION

Fort de 12 années de succès, le Ph.D. du C.E.D.S. a été accrédité par le Collège Européen d'Accréditation des Universités et des Grandes Ecoles (E.A.B.H.E.S : European Accreditation Board of Higher Education Schools). En 2011, en raison de l'excellence de ses programme, du corps enseignant et des auditeurs sélectionnés, le CEDS s'est vu attribuer le statut de Premier College par l'Accreditation Service for International College Britannique, ouvrant la voie à une reconnaissance mutuelle avec les universités britanniques. C'est ainsi qu'un accord de partenariat est conclu avec Anglia Ruskin University.

COÛT DE LA FORMATION

Les frais pour la session 2010-2011 s'élèvent à 8200 euro et couvrent l'ensemble des enseignements décrits.

OBJECTIVES

In order to enlarge its activities towards English speaking elites, the C.E.D.S. has decided to set up the European Ph.D. Program in International Relations and Diplomacy.

EUROPEAN Ph.D. PROGRAM IN INTER­NATIONAL RELATIONS AND DIPLOMACY

PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Prof. Pascal CHAIGNEAU, Juris Doctor, Doctor of Sociology, Doctor of Political Sciences and Doctor of Economics, Attorney at Law, Professor at HEC School of Management and Advisor in Foreign Trade to the French Government.

ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES

This program is designed for diplomats, officials, senior executives and selected graduate students with at least a Master 2 level (with exceptional equivalence of professional experience for the last year).

PROGRAM ORGANIZATION

Taking into consideration the professionnal activities of every participant, this program is organized on a part time basis. Next available session starts in April 2011 untill February 2012. Three half days per week (Thursday all day and Friday morning) are provided for in the program.

It also includes lectures on specific topics, round tables, dinner-debates and 2 study-tours to European Union or NATO in Brussels and to the United Nations in Geneva.

The syllabus will be as follows:

BASIC COURSES AND WORKSHOPSS

  • International Public and Criminal law
  • International economics
  • International Business
  • Strategy in international relations 
  • Methodology of research and dissertation
  • Workshop in diplomcay

COURSES AND CONFERENCES

  • International politics diplomacy and peace keeping operations
  • United Nations system
  • Geopolitics of specific areas (United States, Latin America, Afriica, Middle East, Southern Asia, China, Russia, Balkans etc. )

VALIDATION AND GRADUATION

1- PhD auditors who will have attended at least 75% of the courses and workshops, succeeded at the exams listed below are granted a "session certificate"

List of exams: 1- specific exams related to the fundamental courses and workshops (from international law to diplomacy workshop as mentioned above) 2- the grand oral exam

2- they are authorized to undertake within a timeline of maximum 3 years a PhD dissertation of at least 300 pages non-inclunding the appendixes under the supervision of a professor appointed by CEDS, to submit it and then to defend it in front of a PhD jury

Once they have succeeded they are granted the

PhD in international relations and diplomacy

ACCREDITATION

The PhD program is accredited by  E.A.B.H.E.S.since 2004 and by Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC) in United Kingdom since 2011, testifying that the program fulfills the standard of the Higher education colleges.

The auditors can chose to accomplish their PhD in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University within the limit of 6 auditors a year. (we are aware of selecting the highest level students)

COURSE FEES

Including registration, dinner-debates, lectures and study-tours to the E.U. in Brussels and to the U.N.O. in Geneva, the fees are 8200 euros for the 2012-2013 session.
